Dorothy Marie (Elliott) Gross, 83, of Akron, died on May 24, 2006 at Rockynol Nursing Home. She was born July 6, 1922 in Akron, Ohio to the late Reuben J. & Ora E. (Brewer) Elliott. Dorothy was a member of Green Valley United Methodist Church in Green. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Edwin Gross in 2004; grandson, Christopher Dukes; sisters, Julia Hoskins, Carrie Shanifeltz, Meryl Marker, Lucille Thompson, Frances Traster and Ida Newcome; brothers, Grover, Loring, Luther, Earl and Dan. She is survived by her daughters, June Kolb of Akron and Ruth Crissman of Idaho; sons, Ron (Pat) of Colorado and Wayne (Pat) of Maryland; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Grace Weyant of Akron and Jeanette Richner of Cleveland. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 7 - 9 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. and from 12 - 1 p.m. Wednesday at Green Valley United Methodist Church, 620 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (Rt. 619) where funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jonathan Reese officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
