Dorothy M. Prude

On August 13, 2024 Dorothy M. Prude “Dottie” was called to glory by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy M. Prude was born February 15, 1949 to Oscar and Silverene Prude, the youngest of five children born to this union. She was a life resident of Akron, Ohio. Dottie accepted Jesus Christ at the age of 7 at United Baptist Church and was a member for many years, she later became a member of Second Baptist Church. 

 Dottie went to Miller School, Thornton Jr. High School, and Akron Garfield High School where she graduated in 1968. Dottie received 2 Degrees from the University of Akron in 1985 Bachelor of Science and an Associate of Applied Sciences. Dottie worked for Summit County Medical and also worked for Summa Medical Health System for 40 years as a surgical technician. 

 Dottie was preceded in death by her parents: Oscar and Silverene Prude. Brothers, Johnell Prude, Oscar Prude III, James E. Prude. Sister, Goldie M. Prude (Carr). She leaves to cherish her memory: Aaron D Prude - son (Nikia L Prude - wife), Eric A Prude - son. Grandchildren, Malik D Prude & Mason M Prude. Great Grandchild, Myles J Prude. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lifetime friends: Sandra Brown (Birmingham, Alabama), Nola Hailstock (Akron, Ohio) and a host of other family and friends. Dottie will honestly be missed and is truly loved by everyone who came into contact with her. 

  Visitation will be from 11-12 with a memorial service to start at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens.
