Dorothy Louise Sandy

Dorothy Louise Taylor Sandy, "Dottie", age 83, of Akron, Ohio, died on January 9, 2019 at Akron City Hospital.

She was born on December 27, 1935 in Akron, the daughter of the late Everett James and Edith Nina (nee Wise) Buchanan.

Dorothy's kindness was a blessing, and if you ever had a chance to meet her, you would have known that you were blessed. She always had a kind word, a kind heart, and a gentle hand to help. She blessed many with her never ending cards for all occasions. Her wonderful smile and warm heart are now above all of us. So, once in a while, just stop and look up and you may see her watching over you. Today, we lost a most precious woman, an angel of God, and her children are proud to call her momma. you will forever be missed by so many.

Survivors include her four children, Nancy A. (Gary) Yingling, Sherrie L. Cox, Jeffery A. Taylor, and Chad E. Sandy; her grandchildren, Jacob L. Cox, Jessica and Jenna Yingling, Racheal and Sarah Taylor, and Caleb Sandy; her great-grandchildren, Nautia Davis, Damon Taylor, Adylynn Yingling, and many nephews, nieces, and friends.

Other than her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her 2nd husband, Clayton G. Sandy; her 1st husband, William David Taylor; her granddaughter, Holly D. Cox; and her two sisters, Betty Stoynoff and Gertrude Wright.

Memorial services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 3:00 PM, where family and friends may visit from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM. Rev. William Warner will celebrate Dorothy's life.
