DOROTHY GENE VEGAS (NEE BUCHANAN WILSON)
Dorothy Gene Vegas (nee Buchanan Wilson), 77, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on September 29, 2001 at Akron City Hospital. She was born February 15, 1924 in Canton, Ohio. Dorothy was a member of Calvary Church of the Deaf in Akron. She was preceded in death by her son Harvey Wilson in 1994 and brother David Buchanan. Survivors include her husband Paul J. Vegas of Akron; daughter and son-in-law Virgene & David Mardick of Colorado; step-daughters Betty Toth of Akron, Janet Bills of Akron; brother Bruce Buchanan of Florida; grandchildren Michael & Carrie; 4 great-grandchildren. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 - 9 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. John K. Sederwall officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Church of the Deaf, 745 Upson St., Akron OH 44305.
