Doris "Elaine" Reese

She is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband of 63 years, George.

Surrounded by loved ones, Elaine Reese, 86, of Fairlawn, Ohio peacefully went home to be with the Lord on November 30, 2024. She was born in Akron, Ohio on July 31, 1938 to the late Roy and Ruth Bannish.

Elaine was a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 60 years. She retired from Advanced Elastomer Systems (AES) and spent her retirement years with her husband enjoying their 5 grandchildren; telling stories, taking them to parks, Chuck E. Cheese, having sleepovers, supporting them in their extra curriculars and much more. She was a wonderful grandma in every way! Elaine was a friendly and outgoing lady who never knew a stranger. She had a big heart and never passed up an opportunity to help others.

She is survived by three children, James of Reynoldsburg, Gregg (Tracy) of Fairlawn and Becky (Blair) Kopfstein of Norwalk; five grandchildren, Blair and Brandon Kopfstein, Kyle, Austin and Emily Reese; one great-granddaughter, Avianna Kopfstein; dear sister, Jane Ruckman; and special nieces, Cheryl Taliercio, Janet Bauer and Linda Altis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step father, James Collins; husband of 63 years, George; brother, Don Bannish (Dixie); and son, George Reese III.

Cremation has already taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on December 14th, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church (820 White Pond Dr., Akron, OH 44320) with Rev. Jeffrey Smale officiating.
