Heaven received an ANGEL on January 6, 2013. Doug, Sr., 75, of Akron, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones.
He is survived by his children, Doug, Jr. (Sue), Tim (Karla), Rick, and Jodie Berger; sister, Imogene Tshantz; brother, Dorsel (Mary) Gilbert; grandchildren, Renee, Vincent, Mindy, Timmy, Adam, Ashley, Brittany, Rickey, Maegan; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends, Garda and Lee Smith.
Special thanks to Regency of Barberton for their superior care during Doug's illness.
Calling hours will be Thursday, 5-8 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
