Douglas R. Knoll, 47, of Mogadore, passed away on January 5, 2007. Doug was born in Berea on December 5, 1959. He served in the U.S. Army, was stationed in Ft. Ord, CA, and spent time in Germany. He loved spending time outdoors snow mobiling, golfing, and doing yardwork. He was capable of fixing anything and often helped plow snow for his neighbors. Doug was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herman and Alyce Knoll and J. Peter and Margaret Maser. He will be much missed by his parents, Richard H. and Betty J. Knoll of Vermilion; wife, Barbie J. Knoll of Mogadore; sister, Janet (Paul) Lano of Roebling, NJ; parents-in-law, David and Nancy Carter of Akron; brothers-in-law Danny (Laura) Carter and David Lee Carter; niece, Alicia Carter; and nephew, Andrew Carter. Family and friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 12 p.m. with Dr. Edward Peirce officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Medina Special Olympics, 4691 Windfall Rd., Medina, OH 44256.
