Duane J. Burns

Duane J. Burns, age 99, passed away on May 12, 2022. He was born on August 31, 1922 and lived in Akron, Ohio most of his life. A proud World War II veteran, served as a staff sergeant in the Army Corps in the 8th Air Force. Duane is preceded in death by his wife, Ethel, of 66 years, and his two sons, Patrick, and Michael. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy; daughter-in-law, Geri; grandson, Brian; granddaughter, Michelle (Dan); granddaughter, Maria (Kevin). His is also survived by six great grandchildren, Emily (Kevin), Allison (Shannon), Luke, Sara, Sammie and Sofie.
Calling hours Saturday, June 4, 2022, 11:00am-1:00pm, with Funeral Service to follow 1:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44305.
Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
