Dwight Loren Moody

August 7, 1937 — March 10, 2021

Dwight Loren Moody, 83 went into the open arms of Christ on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. He was the cherished son of Dwight Luther and Hazel Rella {Osborne} Moody, born in Linn, West Virginia.

Dwight was a member of the Canton Baptist Temple and the Englebeck and Wayfarer's Lodge for many years, was drafted for Vietnam in 1961. He will be remembered for his generosity of spirit, his love of God, his family and his country. He was a consummate gentleman who welcomed everyone with a full and open heart. Even as his health deteriorated towards the end, he always had a kind word for everyone.

Of all his accomplishments, Dwight was proudest of his family. In addition to his parents, Dwight is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet; brothers Warren Moody and Virgil Moody. He will be sadly missed by his only daughter, Jeanette "Holly" (Jayson) Koelzer; sister-in-law, Naomi Moody; many nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside service will be held at Hillside Memorial Park, 1025 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312 at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 15 with Pastor Bob Hutton officiating.
