Earl J. Morris, 71, passed away on December 20, 2010. Earl served with the US Navy during the Cuban conflict. He retired from General Motors after 28 years of service. Earl was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Preceded in death by his parents, David and Lucy Morris; and son, Eric. Survivors include his wife, Mary, of 32 years; daughter, Terri Porchowsky; stepsons, Richard and Jeffrey Bickler; sisters, Linda (Jack) Perry, Ruthalie (Roy) Fruharty, Marlene (Robert) Butorac, and Darlene (John) Gordon; grandchildren, Michael, Nathan, and Amanda; 6 step-grandchildren; 8 step-great-grandchildren; and aunt, Rosalie (William) Wood. Calling hours will be Wednesday, 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. Interment at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Randolph Fire Department or the Hospice Care Center.
