Earl W. Martin, Sr.
Earl W. Martin, Sr., 63, passed away on July 25, 2006. Born on November 29, 1942 in Akron, to the late Leroy and Vada Martin. Earl was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Portage Lakes Masonic Lodge 752. He was also a member of the Yusef Khan Grotto, the Grottu, and Scottish Rite-Valley of Akron Lodge. Earl enjoyed deer processing and dearly loved Las Vegas. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife Frances, of 40 years; daughter Kathy (Ron) Joseph; son Earl (Belinda) Martin, Jr.; brothers Robert (Donna), Glen, and Joe (Pam); grandchildren Crystel, Britanie, David, Justin, Tabitha, Amanda, and Joshua; great-grandchildren Mathew, Cora, Haley, and one on the way; and many special friends. The family would like to extend special thanks to Summit Renal Care, Akron City Hospital 6th floor nurses, and Essex Nursing Home for their care and support. Calling hours will be Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. Funeral service Saturday, 1 p.m. at the funeral home, Pastor Lynn Warner officiating. Cremation will follow.
