Earl R. Elliott, Sr.
Earl R. Elliott, Sr., 87, of Akron, passed away March 8, 2013. He was born in Yonkers, New York on January 21, 1926 to the late Earl J. and Emily Elliott. Earl proudly served in the 62nd Fighting Seabees during World War II at Iwo Jima. He retired from the Akron Police Department after 25 years of service. He was a longtime member of the Masons.
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; sister, Alice Merle; and an infant brother. He will be deeply missed by his children, Vickie (Richard) Berman, Earl (Debi) Elliott, Jr., and Randy (Sandy) Elliott; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday March 12 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jonathan Carey officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
