Earlene (Lowther) Kilgore
Earlene (Lowther) Kilgore, 68, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, March 24, 2008 in Akron City Hospital. She was born April 19, 1939, in Akron, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Earl & Jean Lowther. Earlene was involved for many years in the Ohio Country and Western Music Association and received numerous awards for her outstanding contributions and dinners that she helped organize and cook for the club. Her life was mainly focused around her children, grandchildren and church in Kentucky at Rock House Unity Free Will Baptist Church and Victory Chapel in Akron. She is fondly remembered in church for her "soup beans." Earlene is sadly missed by her surviving three sons, one daughter and in-laws; Raymond Ice, Brian (Ronelle) Ice, Brad (Diane) Ice and Darla (Bob) Ice. Also her four sisters, Carol, Catherine, Donna and Shirley; one brother, Terry; 7 grandchildren, Brian Jr., James, Desiree, Danielle, Snow, Heather and Tessa; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Shirley Fielders; sister-in-law, Flo; and Kim, Tim, Brittany, Timmy, Eric, Raquel and Jimmy. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy; one brother, Earl; six sisters, Betty, Jean, Mary, Merceda, Millie and Patricia; and brothers-in-law, Greg and Jake. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6 - 9 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where funeral services will he held at 12:00 p.m. Friday with Pastor Robert Webb of Victory Chapel officiating. Entombment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park Mausoleum.
