Edgar F. Plazek

Edgar F. Plazek, 87, of Ravenna, passed away on August 6, 2020. He was born in Cresson, Pennsylvania on August 8, 1932. Ed served in the U.S. Army. He attended St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Mary in 2008; sister, Velma Cossaboon; and brother, Howard Plazek. He will be dearly missed by his children, Edward (Stacie) Plazek, Sharon Goodrich, and Gregory (Malinda) Plazek; daughter-in-law, Betty Roberts-Plazek; siblings, Ron (Patricia) Plazek, Paul (Barbara) Plazek, Marlene (Norman) Ewing, Sylvia (William) Lee, Leonard Plazek, and Carol Plazek; grandchildren, Edward (Kristen) Plazek Jr., Kelly Plazek (Chris Rizer), Amber Miller, Joshua Miller, Gregory (Meghan) Plazek Jr., and Tyler Plazek; great-grandchildren, Rylee, Maddox, Adison, Keighton, Micah, Noah, Liam, Marley, and Lilly; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., followed by a 1:00 p.m. funeral service with Pastor Brenda Mason Young officiating at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ed's family.
