Edith Bland, 77, passed away October 9, 2010. She was born in Majestic, KY and was currently residing in Red Jacket, WV. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dolly Prater; brothers, Raymond, Willie, Autry, Lonnie, Trap, Peanut, Artist, and Worley Prater; and grandson, Jerry Lee Collins. She is survived by her sons, Terry Bland, Gary (Cheryl) Bland, and Johnny (Kitty) Bland; daughter, Paula (Steve) Wolford; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; brother, John Prater, Jr.; and sister, Dolly Prater. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, October 12, from 4 to 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, where a service will be held Wednesday, October 13, at 1 pm with Pastor Harold Bradley officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
