Edith M. Coulter

Edith M. Coulter, 89, passed away on June 10, 2007. She was born in Camden, SC to the late Johnny M. and Lillian (Charles) Gaither. Edith attended Bethany Presbyterian Church and retired from Mt. Carmel Hospital. She enjoyed singing, dancing, playing piano, and bowling. Her #1 love was her children and grandchildren, to whom she was very devoted. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband George; sisters Mattie Edna Rozzell, Lillie Beatrice Brown, Nannie Edgerton, Mary Amy Watson, and Dorothy Cynthia Robinson; daughters Edith Claudette Harper and Mary E. Allen; and grandchildren Michael Shawn and Alexis Leighann Coulter. Survivors include daughters Nannie C. (John) Sharpe, Mattie E. (Richard) Thomas, and Carolyn J. Coulter; sons George Randolph (Jenny), Samuel F., William P. (Jean), John C. (Beverly), and Donald (Merlene) Coulter; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; brother James Wylie Gaither; dear friend Calvin Lewis; and numerous friends and co-workers at Mt. Carmel Hospital. Funeral service will be held Friday, 1 p.m. at Bethany Presbyterian Church, Rev. Floyd Rhoads officiating. Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Cemetery.
