Edith E. Wood, 89, went home to be with the Lord on July 23, 2009. Edith was born March 15, 1920 in Akron, Ohio. She was employed by BF Goodrich and was a longtime member of Harvestime Apostolic Church. Edith is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Alan (AJ) Ficarro; brother, Charles Vaughn; stepson, Michael R. Wood; stepdaughters, Judy Jenkins and Patty Cole; grandchildren, Gary D. Whaley II, Brian A. Whaley, Corey J. Whaley, and Jordan I. Castle; and great-grandchild, Aidan Whaley. Special thanks to Sarah Care in N. Canton, Altercare of Hartville, and the ER and Acute Palliative Care Unit at Akron City. Thanks to the Smith family and the Harvestime church family for all the care given to Edith. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by a 12 p.m. funeral service at Harvestime Apostolic Temple, 136 E. Maple St., Hartville, Rev. Raymond Smith officiating. Interment at East Akron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harvestime Apostolic Temple.
