Edith L. Holloway
Edith L. Holloway, 85, went home to be with the Lord on July 22, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. She belonged to the Gold Star Mothers, American War Mothers, past president of the 2301 Eagles, and was a member of the Brown Street Baptist Church. Edith was an avid bowler, and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Holloway; son, Walter "Butch" Ellis; parents, Minnie and Lewis Huth; and sisters, Betty Donahue, and Garnetta Kellogg. Edith is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Carl) Gray, Janice Davis, Joyce (Bob) Kephart, and Chris (Rocky) Heater; son, Paul (Jo Ann) Ellis; step-son, Richard (Kathy) Holloway; 16 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Rev. Virgil (Glenna) Yehnert; dear friend, David Clinton; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Calling hours will be held Sunday, July 25, from 5 to 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Monday, July 26, at 2 pm, with a visitation 1 hour prior, with Rev. Virgil Yehnert officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
