Edith R. Gordon

Edith R. Gordon, 84, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016 with her family by her side. Edith was born on June 29, 1931 in Bay du Vin New Brunswick, Canada to James and Gladys Gulliver. Edith and her family relocated to the Akron area in 1962, where she devoted herself to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid sports fan. Edith enjoyed watching the Indians, Cavs and the Browns in her spare time.

She was preceded in death by her husband James "Les" Gordon;son, Douglas Gordon;son-in-law, Ed McMullen.

Edith is survived by her children, Donna McMullen, Edie (Steve) Brinley; daughter-in-law, Tisha Gordon-Wells;grandchildren, Gretchen (Jeff) Kenepp, Lanette (Carl) McKimmie, Steven (LeeAnn) Brinley, Blake ( Krissy ) Gordon, Ryan ( Karah) McMullen; sister, Bessie Lawson;sister-in-law, Lois Bowes; 12 great grandchildren with one on the way, a host of nieces, nephews, her spoiled dog Teddy and extended family who will miss "Granny" dearly.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home,131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, Ohio 44305. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Smith officiating.

Interment will be at Hillside Memorial Park.
