Edna Virginia Brooks (Guess) age 75 of Akron, Ohio, died on May 8, 2019 at Summa Akron City Hospital.
She was born on February 22, 1944 in Coeburn Virginia, to the late Gracie Mae Guess.
Edna worked as a Nurses Aide at Summa Akron City Hospital for 40+ years.
She enjoyed playing cards, watching her favorite soap opera "Young and the Restless", a good cup of coffee and was a dedicated Steelers fan.
Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.
Edna will be reunited with her Mother; Gracie Mae Guess, Sister; Aquilla "Candy" Guess and other friends and family who preceded her in death.
She will be cherished in memory by Daughters; Carla and Kim Brooks, both of Akron, Uncles; Rayfield James(Eula) Guess of Akron, Van Wesley (Dorothy) Guess of Cincinnati, Aunt; Lilly Guess of Akron, Special Cousin; James Guess of Akron, devoted companion Billy "Charles" Portis, and Grandchildren, Kimberly Brooks; Oneal (Kory) Brooks; Cameron (Tina) Brooks; Robert Brooks; Marquet (Carlissa) Brooks; and a host of Great-Grandchildren, family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 10AM - Noon.
