Edna L. Ellis, age 102, passed away on January 31, 2024 at 10:50pm at Pebble Creek, HCF.
She was born in Akron, Ohio on October 20, 1921 the daughter of Arthur and Myrtle Speicher.
Edna grew up in Ellet (Akron, Ohio) raised by her mother. She was 1 year old when her father was killed in an accident at Goodyear Tire and Rubber.
She graduated with honors from Ellet High School in 1938. She was married to John F. Ellis just short of 65 years. Edna retired with 16 years of service from Goodyear Aerospace.
She is survived by her daughters, Beverly S. Mondello and Marilyn A. (Mark) Zimmerman; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Myrtle Speicher; her husband, John F. Ellis; son, John M. Ellis; her brothers, Emerson (Marjorie) Speicher and Harold (Jean) Speicher; son-in-law, James V. Mondello; and brother-in-law, Don (Harriot) Ellis.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 5th, from 10:00am to 11:00am at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 11:00am with Chaplain Rick Pounds - Solomon officiating.
Interment will be held at Hillside Memorial Park.
