Edna V. Woodlin (Frye), 90, passed away December 29, 2010. She was born in Clarksburg, WV, and lived in Akron most of her life. Edna retired from working in healthcare. She is preceded in death by husbands, Leonard Frye and Harry Woodlin; son, Leslie Frye; grandsons, Tommy and Scott Frye; brothers, Linden, Meryle, and Richard Swiger; and sister, Marie Harbert. Edna is survived by sons, Blane (Betty), Paul (Cindy) and Russell (Sharon) Frye; daughter, Barbara (Bob) Houchen; daughter-in-law, Mary Frye; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; brothers, Charles and Dale Swiger; nieces and nephews; and many friends. The family would like to send a special thank you to Gina Myers and the many aides at Cambridge Home Healthcare, and also Hospice of Summa. Calling hours will be held Monday, January 3, from 11 am to 1 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will follow at 1 pm with Pastor John Beers officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of Summa.
