Edward A. Woodarski, 70, of Akron, passed away January 3, 2002 at Akron City Hospital. He was born January 31, 1931 in Akron OH to the late Joseph & Wanda (Sibel) Woodarski. Edward proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of Wintergreen Ledges Church of God, a Lifetime Member ofV.F.W. Post 8487, Army/Navy and the American Legion. Edward retired from Gerneral Tire after 26 years of service. In addition he was an avid bowler and bowled on countless teams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gertie Smith. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Phyllis (Gilmore) Woodarski; daughter Susan M. Trezza of Arizona; sons Joe Woodarski of Barberton, Raymond Woodarski of Akron; step-sons Eugene (Anne) Brandt of Florida, Pete (Laura) Brandt of Mentor, Todd Brandt of Akron; brothers John Woodarski of Norton, Ray Woodarski of Washington; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; special relatives Betty Reynolds, Margaret Chittenden, Marjorie Baker. Friends may call Sunday from 4 - 8 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. and Monday from 12 - 1 p.m. at Wintergreen Ledges Church of God, 1889 Wooster Ave., Akron OH 44320 where funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Roma officiating. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wintergreen Ledges Church of God.
