Edward A. Antes

Edward Alan Antes, loving husband, father, and son passed away unexpectedly on August 3rd, 2021 at the age of 50.

Ed was born March 31, 1971 to Henry Antes and Amah Sue Antes in Akron, OH. The youngest of three sons, Ed often shared fond memories of growing up with his older brothers, Bill and Jim. Ed grew up in the Ellet area and graduated from Ellet High School in 1989. Shortly after graduation, Ed joined the Army and was briefly stationed in South Korea. Upon returning home, he worked at many area restaurants while earning his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from The University of Akron. Ed moved to Arizona in 2010 where he worked extensively with veterinarians and was an active member of the AZVMA and a partner at Veterinary Practice Advisors.

Ed's personality was larger than life with a laugh to match. He enjoyed cooking and was an avid fisherman. Traveling, playing video games with his children, and listening to music were some of his favorite hobbies.

Ed will be missed by many including his wife Tracie and his children Andrew, Anthony (Stephanie), Olivia, and Samuel as well as numerous family members and friends.

Calling hours will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305 on Friday, August 13th, 2021 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. The funeral service will begin immediately after at 1:30 pm. A procession to Hillside Memorial Park will follow.
