Edward B. Fletcher (AKA Bethel E. Fletcher), 70, of Canal Fulton, OH, entered into Heaven on September 22, 2013, after a long battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Sheena Marie; father, Steve Fletcher; stepfather, William Henry Pruitt; brothers, Raymond Turner, Donnie Pruitt, Barry Pruitt; and sister, Brenda Benz Azar.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Shirley; precious daughter, Tracy Fletcher Davis (Bill), of Massillon; son, Sean Fletcher, US Air Force, England; mother, Irene Arlene Pruitt, of Cuyahoga Falls; brothers, Larry H. Pruitt (Tammy), of Clearwater, FL, James Hess (Christine), of Shelbyville, TN; and sister, Shirley Halliday (Gregg), of Akron. He also leaves his grandson, Garett Davis; granddaughter, Corrine Davis; a number of beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Vietnam War veteran, Eddie served his country as a proud member of the Army's 101st Screaming Eagles. He was a previous employee of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and an owner/operator for North American Van Lines.
Calling hours will be Saturday, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, with a memorial service to follow at 12 p.m.
