Edward Walter Kapper

Edward "Ed" W. Kapper, 75, departed from our lives on Saturday, September 16, 2023. Edward was born the oldest of 6 children to the late Olga and Carl Kapper in Akron, Ohio on December 21, 1947.

Ed worked in the trucking industry for most of his life. He retired from USF Holland Motorways in 2005. After retiring, he enjoyed most of his time in Hudson, FL. He attended St. Bernard's Elementary School and graduated from Central High School in 1964, where he enjoyed playing football and making boats in wood shop.

Ed enjoyed camping, fishing, riding his Harleys, boating, and spending time with his family and friends. Ed had numerous friends, including his longtime partner-in-crime Donald "Duck" Hickins.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his son Bryan Kapper, step-son Timothy Wyatt, brothers James and Kenneth Kapper, and former spouse Rebecca Johnson.

Ed is survived by wife of 18 years, Wanda "Sue" {Wyatt} Kapper; sister Linda (Larry) Carrington; brothers Thomas (Charlene) Kapper and Paul Kapper; children Amy Kapper, special daughter Megan (Edward) Daley, special son Zachary (Sarah) Kapper, special son Joshua (Paula) Kapper; step-son Christopher (Sara) Wyatt; grandchildren Hayli, Kyleigh, Aiden, Ethan, Reid, Aislin, Sienna and Donovan; step-grandchildren Kincaid, Christian, Jameson, Jackson, Jolee, Carter and Major; beloved chicken Louise; numerous nieces and nephews.

All are welcome to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Sunday, September 24th from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral service begins at 4:00 p.m., with Pastor Joel Engman officiating.
