Edward L. Moyers
Edward L. Moyers, 88, of Akron, died on March 30, 2005 at Pebble Creek Nursing Home. He was born June 20, 1917 in Akron, Ohio to the late Lonnie & Bell (Mains) Moyers. Edward retired from the Akron Beacon Journal after 29 years of service; he was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing with friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Viola H. (Kraft) Moyers; infant son, Bruce Moyers; brother, Earl Moyers; sister, Yemina Hamilton; and companion of 15 years, Freda Rowe.. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia (Robert) Thompson of Utah; son, Robert (Linda) Moyers of Akron; sisters, Viola and Donna; brothers, Duane, Gordon and Donald; 5 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Burial will take place Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Hillside Memorial Park. All will meet at the cemetery.
