Edward Lloyd Shue, "Ed", age 77 of Barberton, Ohio, died on October 27, 2017 at Barberton Hospital.
He was born on February 25, 1940 in Akron, the son of the late Marshall and Lila (nee Gray) Shue.
Mr. Shue was an honorably discharged US Army veteran during the Vietnam War.
Ed enjoyed fishing, playing softball-in the Silver League for many years, and loved sports in general. Ed and his wife also traveled extensively back and forth from Ohio to Texas.
Survivors include his loving wife, the former Glenda Lehman, whom he married on January 5, 1962; his daughters, Debra (Tom) Cheek, Tammy (Carlton) Hooten, and Robin Shue; his grandchildren, Ryan Cheek, Melissa (Greg) Escovedo, Jacob Hooten, and Taylor Hooten; and one great-grandchild, Marley Escovedo; Ed's brother, Howard Shue; and his beloved dog, Mikey.
Other than his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his siblings, Sylvia Simmons, Laura Price, and Orville Shue.
Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM, where Pastor Robert Webb will celebrate Edward's life.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
