Edward W. Johnson
MOGADORE – Edward W. Johnson, born on July 25, 1925, passed away June 10, 2010. Ed was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Mogadore VFW & Moose, Eagles & Oriels, and the Firestone Retirees. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II, and retired from Firestone after 30 years of service. Ed loved to hunt, and going on his fishing trips. Preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Grace; brothers, Albert, and Duane; and sisters, Dorothy, Lucille, and Elizabeth. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Cecilia; daughter, Jacqueline (Ronnie) Renwick; grandson, Mitch (Jaclyn); many nieces and nephews, and friends; and dear special friends, Charlie and Lana. The family would like to thank the Mogadore Police Dept. and Paramedics for the tender care of Ed. Calling hours will be held Sunday, June 13, from 4 to 6 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthew's Church of Monday, June 14, at 10 am with Fr. Mike Williamson officiating. FUNERAL PROCESSION TO FORM AT CHURCH.
