Eileen M. Goss, 88, of Tallmadge, went to be with the Lord on April 29, 2012. She was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on June 12, 1923 to the late Benjamin and Lauretta Snyder and was raised by her grandparents, A. Delbert and Florence Smith.
Eileen was a caregiver for Matthews Nursing for 22 years. She was also a longtime member of Tallmadge Church of the Nazarene and a devout Christian. Eileen was an avid reader and had a natural creativity that she used to enhance beauty in all aspects of her life. She always put others before herself and was truly loved by everyone who knew her.
In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was preceded in death by her son, John Goss; sister, Betty Church; and the father of her children, Meredith Goss. She will be deeply missed by her children, Cherrill (Terry) Wertz, Gary (Susan) Goss, Linda (Ron) Davis, Beverly Goss, David (Susan) Goss, and Donna (Bill) Carr; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday May 2 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. in Akron, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Dick Gibson officiating. Interment at Tallmadge Cemetery.
