Elder Lynwood Snipes, 70, of Akron, passed away January 3, 2008 after a long illness. He was born June 11, 1937 in Struthers, OH to the late Jesse and Leomia Snipes. He lived most of his life in the community. He worked at General Motors in Lordstown, OH retiring in June 1993. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Raymond Snipes. He leaves to cherish his memory, beloved wife Tivious (Mann) Snipes, daughter Darlene Snipes of Akron; son Tommy (Captoria) Snipes of Detroit, MI; son Kirby (Myra) Snipes of Akron; daughter Sharon (Darrell) Hill of Akron; daughter Deborah (Lloyd) Hamilton of Atlanta, GA; Pheyama Lincoln of North Carolina; Curley (Harold) Washington, Linda (George) Jones, and Sherrilyn Higginbottom all of Akron, OH; Walter (Nichole) Stephens of Cincinnati, OH; brothers, Melvin (Gladys) Terry, Curtis (Ann) Snipes; grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Family will receive friends Sunday, January 6, 2008 from 4-7 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N Canton Rd, Akron. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 7, at 11 AM at Community Fellowship Chapel, 951 Virginia Ave. Entombment Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.
