Eleanor K. Hackathorn, 79, of Akron, died on March 30, 2005 at Akron City Hospital. She was born January 9, 1926 in Akron, Ohio to the late Orel & Latish (Barr) Vanhook. Eleanor enjoyed her grandchildren, eating out, yard sales and reading. In addition to her parents, Eleanor is preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. Hackathorn; daughters, Delores DuMaurier and Barbara Anderson; grandchildren, Bart Matthew Sanders and Billy McColley; sisters, Matilda Wilson and Marie Keesee. She is survived by her daughters, Joan (Charles) Currence of Akron and Donna (Robert) Steele of Vermilion; son, John Hackathorn of Akron; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters and 1 brother. Calling hours will be Sunday from 1 - 5 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. and on Monday from 12 - 1 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park in Marietta, Ohio where burial will take place.
