Eleanor May Harker, 97, of Akron, passed away on May 3, 2023. She was born on May 4, 1925 to the late Mildred (Lutz) and Lester Brown.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James Harker; and her 5 siblings.
She will be dearly missed by her loving children, Jean Markle, David (Bonita) Harker, Karen Hutchison and Rebecca (Jeff) Ward; her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; half-brother, Rick Oldham; brother-in-law, Charles Patzer; and many extended family members and friends.
Strong and independent are just a few things that would describe Eleanor. She was a strong prayer warrior that prayed over her family and friends. She loved the Lord, read his word everyday, and she knew at the end of her life where she was headed, Heaven!
Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. with a 1:00 P.M. service at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44305, followed by internment at 2:00 P.M. at Hillside Memorial Park, 1025 Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44312.
