Eleanor Kay Adkins, 78, of Akron, passed away on November 4, 2022. She was born in Akron on June 14, 1944 to the late Franklin D. and Elizabeth I. Marchand. She was the youngest of twelve children.
Kay devoted her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She loved to care for her family and home and was a terrific cook who never followed recipe, just her instincts. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her eleven siblings: Franklin D. Marchand Jr., Ida Belle Marchand, Richard C. Marchand, Eileen M. Conroy, Robert E. Marchand, Jack M. Marchand, Phyllis J. Rudd, Eugene P. Marchand, James E. Marchand, Shirley A. Pinkston, and Russell Marchand; six brothers-in-law: Homer L. Jordan, Pierce Sherman Adkins, Rutherford Lorain Adkins, Eugene P. Berger, Robert L. McClain, James E. Stollar; and four sisters-in-law: Nora Lavonia Jordan, Marjorie O. Adkins, Bonnie Berger, Gloria J. McClain.
Kay will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 50 years, Corbin R. Adkins; step-son, James (Marjorie) Adkins, step-daughters, Carla (Wayne) Boggs, Brenda Adkins, sons, Mark Hungerford, Michael (Amy) Adkins; sister-in-law, Boncil Stollar; grandchildren, Sarah Adkins, Nicole (Andre) Willard, Brandon (Kailen) Boggs, Brian Adkins, Delaney Adkins, and Brayden Adkins; great-grandchildren, Aisley and Ashton.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:00 p.m. until the start of service.
Eleanor's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.
