Eleanor (Kubik) Crute, Rn
Eleanor (Kubik) Crute, RN, 73, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2011.
Eleanor spent most of her life in the Akron and Cleveland areas. She graduated from St. Luke's School of Nursing (Cleveland), and her career working as a registered nurse has included the newborn nursery at McKeesport Hospital (Pittsburgh), the heart catheterization lab at Deaconess Hospital (Cleveland), and a surgical nurse at Barberton Citizens Hospital (Barberton) where she retired in 1992. Eleanor loved to observe the different birds that visited her bird feeders but, more than anything, she loved to spend time with her family.
Preceded in death by parents, Edward and Martha (Tomcik) Kubik; and siblings, Virginia "Ginger" McCormick and Edward Kubik, Jr., Eleanor is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Herbert; children Cathy (Stewart) Meacham and Roy (Janet) Crute; grandchildren Benjamin, Kristen, Alyssa, Jessica, Alexandra, Justin and Amber; and dear friends, Jan, Joan, and Diane. The family also wishes to thank the staff of the Hickory Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Tridia Hospice Care.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to Hickory Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 721 Hickory St., Akron, OH 44303 or Tridia Hospice Care, Inc., 2215 Citygate Dr., Ste.
