Elise L. Davis

March 1, 1937 — February 2, 2014

Elise L. Davis, 76, was peacefully reunited with her men on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at her home with family. She was born on March 1, 1937 in Akron, Ohio to the late Earl McQuillan and Elizabeth Darkow. Elise retired from Roadway Trucking Company, enjoyed bowling, friends at Michelli's, Bunco ladies group and was a member and former chaplain and historian of the Ladies Auxiliary Clarence E. Mains Post #1070. She was a loving mother, devoted sister and an adoring grandmother with a sweet but honest heart who wasn't afraid to 'tell you how it was.'

Elise was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob Davis, sons; Michael, Donald and Robert Davis and special friend Rick "Rickles" Houston. She is survived by her brothers David (Karen) Darkow and Norman (Trish) Darkow, sister Virginia (Fred) Hunt, grandchildren; Mara Waybright, Richard Davis, Nicole Davis, Jeremy Davis, Randy Gallicchio, Natasha Lawson, Justina Lees, Mitchell Davis, Robert Davis, Jr. and Brandi Davis, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to daughter-in-law Sherry Davis Zebly, granddaughter Mara and friends Mary "Liz" Mason and Anne for the care they provided Elise.

A Celebration of Elise's Life will be held 12-3 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at VFW #1070, 641 E. Tallmadge Ave, Akron, OH 44310. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clarence E. Mains Post at the above address.
