Elizabeth Ann McCaslin

Elizabeth A. McCaslin, 40, died October 13, 2008 after a valiant struggle with cancer. Elizabeth was the class Valedictorian of the 1986 graduation class of Independence High School, and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1990 from Kent State University with a Bachelors in Computer Science. For the last 18 years she was employed at Datavantage-Micros Retail as a Development Manager. She was a member of National C.V.M. Rare Sheep Breed Conservancy. Elizabeth was a faithful member of the Uniontown Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 17 years Shaun; her children Cade (age 8), Aryn Rose (age 5) and Liam (age 3); she leaves behind her parents, Richard and Dorothy Duda; her sisters Valerie Duda, Carolyn Kuczmarski (Rick) and Amy Gray (Jack); her brothers Paul Duda and Stephen Duda (Carol); Elizabeth was the loving aunt of 6 children; she also leaves behind her father and mother-in-law Tom and Pam McCaslin; sisters-in-laws Lisa Salerno (Jim) and Tara Tipton; Elizabeth was a friend to many. Calling hours will be Friday from 2 - 4 & 6 - 9 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:00 pm at the Lake High School Auditorium, 11936 King Church Ave., Uniontown, OH 44685 with Mr. James Salerno officiating. Internment at Mt. Peace Cemetery in Hartville. A benefit is set up for The Elizabeth A. McCaslin Fund at any Chase Bank.
