Elizabeth "Betty" G. Jones
Elizabeth "Betty" G. Jones, 95, formerly of Tallmadge, Ohio passed away January 18, 2010 at Newark Health Care Center. She was born August 29, 1914 in Little Falls, NY to the late Jacob & Margaret (Drobina) Stimler. Elizabeth was a charter member of Hampe Memorial Church for 62 years, now Tallmadge Wesleyan Methodist Church, where she served as Treasurer for 52 years. She recently attended Columbus Wesleyan Methodist Church. Elizabeth was active with the Mohawk Rubber Retirees Group and worked in the voting booths for 40 years. In her free time, she was an avid gardner and reader. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Clarence S. Jones; brothers, Jacob "Jack" Stimler and Fred Stimler; sisters, Anna Farkas and Frances Wetshtein. She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn (Daryl) Fair; son, Clarence A. (Mary Sue) Jones; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She will be sorely missed and every memory will be cherished. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dan Fair her grandson, and Rev. Ben Blowers officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
