Elizabeth Pugh
Elizabeth Rose Pugh, 95, passed away September 8, 2011 after an extended illness. She was a long time member of the former Cuyahoga Falls Baptist Church. Elizabeth was currently a resident of the Briarwood, where she served as a volunteer in activities for over 10 years. She was formerly a singer and guitar player in a country western band called Betty and her Westerners. Elizabeth spent much of her time doing crafts, reading, knitting, and playing bingo and other board games. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Bernard Pugh; 3 sisters; and 1 brother. Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Joanne (Henry) Cozad, and Judy (Jim) Studenic; grandchildren, Dan Davis, Lori Thompson, Julie (Joe) Andrews, Janelle (Dave) Riccillo, and Jeff Studenic and Nicole Fleming; and great-grandchildren, DJ, Jake, and Mitch Davis, Julie Gross, Nick, Evan, and Jack Andrews, and Ryan and Rachel Riccillo. A memorial gathering will take place Friday, September 16, from 2 to 3 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will follow at 3 pm with Pastor Les Sutherland officiating.
