Elizabeth Szakmeister, age 87 of Akron passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at her home. She was born to the late Imre and Anna Skrapics in Hungary on November 20, 1932.
Elizabeth immigrated from Hungary with her husband John and her three brothers, Janos, Imre, and Stefan, all of whom preceded her in death. She will be dearly missed by her children, John (Sheryl), Susan (John) Josef, James (Rae Ann), Elizabeth (the late Bennett) Parrish, and Mike (Margaret); 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 nephews.
Elizabeth was a dog lover, enjoyed spending time with her younger generations, and loved her flower gardens. She was a wonderful cook, and was especially talented at creating dishes from her Hungarian culture.
Due to the circumstances surrounding the coronavirus, all services will be private, and Elizabeth will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron. To leave a message for Elizabeth's family, please visit the guestbook below.
