Elizabeth A. Runion Westbrook (nee Jones), age 85, was born September 28, 1930 and died April 4, 2016 at Heritage of Hudson Nursing facility in Hudson, Ohio following the extraordinary care of both the Heritage and Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service staffs.
From 1985 to 2010, Elizabeth resided in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area after retiring from Go-Jo Industries where she worked for many years.
Survivors include her two daughters, Carmen Heare of Akron and Cyndie (Tim) Shilling of Akron; her daughter-in-law, Michelle Runion of Mogadore; her two brothers Glenn (Phyllis) Jones of Gibsonia, PA, and Allen (Sue) Jones of Mineral City, OH; granddaughter, Krista Runion; grandsons, Matt Shilling and Tim Ward; great-granddaughter, Rylee Runion; three step-children; several nieces and nephews; and many friends in both Ohio and the Myrtle Beach areas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William M. and Mila (nee Machan) Jones; her first husband, Fred J. Runion; her second husband, George Westbrook; her son, Tom Runion; her son-in-law, Sloan Heare; her sisters Donna Renner and June Richardson; and two brothers, MacDonald and Calvin Jones.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Rd, Akron, on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 2:00 to 3:30 pm with a memorial service to be held at 3:30 pm also at the funeral home. A private family burial will be done at a later date.
Instead of flowers the family suggests that contributions in Elizabeth's name be made to either Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service, 3358 Ridgewood Rd, Akron, OH 44333, or the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
