Elizabeth Jean Wilson-Pownell-Norton

Elizabeth J. Wilson-Pownell-Norton, age 92, of Kent, passed away on February 2, 2025 at Tamarack Ridge. She was born on December 25, 1932 to the late Herman and Audra Wilson in Idamay, WV. 

Elizabeth worked in many different fields before retiring in Fairmont, WV.

She was a longtime member of Covenant Church in Fairmont, WV. Elizabeth loved life as a woman of faith and loved her time at church. Elizabeth was a “Christmas Baby,” she loved Christmas time and decorating her house for the holiday, and the yearly shopping trips with the “girls” in her family. She found so much joy in playing board and card games, softball and volleyball, family picnics and beach vacations, as well as visiting and spending time with her family, especially her sisters. She also enjoyed watching football, specifically the West Virginia Mountaineers and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Time spent laughing with her will be greatly missed but greatly cherished.

Elizabeth is survived by her loving children, John (Mary), Darlene, Gary (Patti), Steven (Judi) and Tina (Matt); grandchildren, Tiffany, Michael, Ashley, Allison, John Jeffery, Jennifer, Amber, Gary, Sara and Justin; numerous great-grandchildren; and sisters, Patricia VanGilder and Linda (Bob) Rowand.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Pownell; and siblings, Jerry, Bob, Billy and Jacqueline. 

Per Elizabeth's wishes, cremation has taken place and her family is planning a Memorial Service to be announced at a later date.
