Ella D. MacMillan
Ella D. MacMillan, 85, of Bedford, passed away September 12, 2007 at The Merriman Nursing Home. She was born December 26, 1921 in Dover, Ohio to the late Albert & Ella (Steely) Shumaker. Ella was a loving, caring person and a devoted mother and friend. She was an avid reader. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill, Vernon and John Alber Shumaker; and sister, Audrey Stewart. She is survived by her sons, James L. Derwin of Akron, Bruce (Pam) MacMillen of Bedford; grandchildren, Eric, Scott and Jennifer; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, June (Richard) Dessecker of New Philadelphia OH, and Norma Angel of Bowerston OH. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 12 - 1 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev.
