Ella Joyce Dye (Wilson), slipped the surly bonds of this earth October 24, 2018 to enter joyfully into the presence of her Savior Jesus Christ. Ella was born May 1, 1934 in Swords Creek, Virginia. She graduated from Honaker High School Class of 1951. She came to Akron at the age of 17 and worked as a secretary for General Tire. She has been a member of The Chapel on Fir Hill since its inception over 60 years ago. Her life was lived in dedication to her family and the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Jettie Wilson, as well as her loving husband of 60 years, James O. Dye. She leaves behind her three children, Kimberly (Terry) Rutledge of Hartville, Timothy (Kimberly) Dye of Strongsville, and Daniel Dye (Shellie) of Green; as well as five grandchildren, Amanda (Roman), Miranda, Alexandra, and Jacob Dye and Samuel Rutledge; as well as her sweet little great-grandson, Emerson. She also leaves her siblings, Bayes (Tiny) Wilson of Salem, VA and Nancy (Bruce) Young of Williamsburg, VA; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held on Friday, November 2nd at 11:30 a.m. Following the service, interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
