Ellen Kathryn Sherrill, 81, passed away on September 18, 2009. She was born in New Philadelphia, OH on September 28, 1927 to the late Albert and Edith Norman. She had been a resident of Akron, Tallmadge, Ft. Pierce, Barefoot Bay, and Bolivar. Ellen was very active in her church and was a volunteer for the Barefoot Bay Sheriff. She was very talented in craft work, tatting, crocheting, etc. Preceded in death by her husband Alvin B. Sherrill and her granddaughter Kimberly D. Sherrill. Survivors include her son William (Alice) Sherrill, of Bolivar, OH; daughters Cindy (Jeff) Bibbee, of Plano, TX, Pam (Don) Bishop, of Tallmadge, OH, Nancy (Bart) Palmer, of Orlando, FL, Linda (Bill) McIntyre, of Springfield Twp., OH; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Monday, 4-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m.. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
