Ellen Marie Powers, 87, of Westland, passed away May 28, 2005 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Ellen was a former member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas G. Powers; daughter, Joyce Joann McLaughlin; brothers, Thomas Harper, Charles Latham, and Percy Latham; sisters, Florence Rice and Esther Adams; grandchildren, Eric Wayne Powers and Patti Ann Powers; and great-granddaughter, Dawn Marie Carpenter. She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn (Jim) Haymond of Tallmadge, OH; sons, Charles (Nancy) of Highland, David (Anita) of Garden City, and Larry (Kathy) of Westland; sister, Evelyn "Betty" Wheeler of Troy; grandchildren, James P., Paul E., Robert W., Ronald L., Gary T., and Brian L. Haymond, Karen Peace, Cheryl Bellinger, Jeff McLaughlin, Brenda Carpenter, Becky Summerfield, Joyce Myers, Crystal Cox, Jerry Powers, Gail Sadecki, Kim Hood, Erin Powers, and Dan Powers; 43 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Livonia.
