Elmer Jerome "Jerry" Burke, Jr., 72, of Akron went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 4, 2023. He was born on April 19, 1950 to the late Elmer Sr. and Adeline {Siebert} Burke.
In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his brothers Vincent, James and John Burke, sisters Shirley Blankenship and Emily Burke, granddaughter Morgan Hall, nephews Joey and Junior Blankenship, great-nephew Lucious Fletcher and son-in-law Aaron Propst.
Jerry is survived by his children William (Candice) Rogers, Jennifer (Richard Jr.) Hall and Pamela Propst; sisters Margaret Burke, Mary (Don) Fletcher, Pat (Kevin) Murphy; grandchildren Katelyn, Gracie, Nicholas and Austin Rogers, Aaron and Mackenzie Propst and Richard Hall III; nephew Joshua Fletcher.
Jerry grew up in Norton, Ohio and attended Norton schools. He had a love for semi-trucks and was a truck driver until he retired.
Jerry loved watching old Westerns, Andy Griffith, wrestling and comedies. He was a man of few words, but had a heart of gold and would help anyone. Jerry loved spending time with his family, friends, children and grandchildren. His children and grandkids meant the world to him. We will forever miss him.
All are welcome to visit at Akron Eastwood Church of the Brethren on Saturday, February 11 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m. Jerry will be laid to rest privately at Hillside Memorial Park, near his granddaughter Morgan.
