Elsie P. Jerin
It is with Love that we remember Elsie P. Jerin (83) of Akron, Born December 1, 1939. The daughter of the late William and Edith Heffernan. Elsie also affectionately known as "Toots", was a very accomplished woman. She worked at B.F. Goodrich for over 20 years. She went on to further her education and graduated with honors receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Akron University. Elsie's true loves were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She worked tirelessly to provide the best life for them. Her home seemed to be the gathering place for the family. Elsie had her own personal places of enjoyment, she was a skilled seamstress, loved boating, fishing, games and puzzles. She will always be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love and devotion to her family and her silent strength. On August 17, 2023, she said farewell to this world to receive her reward in heaven.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold "Smokey" Jerin; and brother William Heffernan. Elsie is survived by her children, Debi (Mark) Dixon, Mark Smith, Joni Smith, and Tim Smith; step-daughter Nada Wilson; grandchildren Bobby (Beth) Anglin, Brittany (Ian) Taylor, Zach Smith, Matt Smith, Kyle Smith, Noah Smith, and Jacob Smith; and her great-grandchildren Jaxton Anglin, Izabella Anglin, Raegan Taylor, and Zeke Taylor; her siblings Bo (Carol) O'Heffernan, John Heffernan, and Chuck (Kathy) Heffernan; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held on Friday at 11:00am with Pastor Ian Taylor officiating.
Interment will take place at East Liberty Cemetery.
