Elton "Rusty" L. Greer, went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2021.
Rusty was born on January 2, 1937 in Akron, Ohio to Joseph Herman Neil and Freda Geraldine (Cross) Greer. He graduated from Rootstown High School in 1955. Rusty retired from the grocery industry after 40 years of service. He was a Christian and former member of the Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hiking, traveling, and sports. He had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Herman, and sister, Sonya Webb.
Rusty will be deeply missed by his sons, Joseph (Anna) Greer, Jeff Greer, and Mark Greer, sister, Shelba Addington, brother, James (Cathy) Greer, and multiple nieces and nephews.
The family would like to say a special thanks to friends Paul and Michelle for all of their help over the years.
Friends and family may come to call on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
