Elva C. Shepherd
"Ms. Fiesty"
Sunrise of October 30, 1945 - Sunset of March 25, 2023
Elva was known for being fiesty but in the same way extremely loveable. She was full of surprises which kept us all on our toes. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and being creatively artistic. She loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. Elva was a free spirit and was very strong minded and strong willed. The grass had no time to grow underneath Elva's feet. Elva did what Elva wanted to do and that was it. Her famous quote was, "I SAID!"
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Annie Hudgins, five sisters and two brothers.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Jerusalem (Grandville); three granddaughters: Mercedes Y. (Carl Jr.), Brittney D. (Darryl), and Taylor G.; six great-grandchildren; her youngest sister, Edith H.; and a host of nieces and nephews who some considered her to be a second mother to them.
Cremation is scheduled to take place per Elva's wishes and no formal services will be held.
The family invites you to sign the online guest book and leave a fond memory.
Many thanks to all the wonderful staff at Pinnacle Rehabilitation Facility.
